Virginia has an affordable housing crisis. Rents are escalating. Home ownership is out of reach for many. Evictions are happening across the Commonwealth, throwing families into houselessness. Housing is a huge problem for many in Virginia.
The Governor has said he is concerned about housing affordability. But, there is very little money in the budget for housing, despite the Commonwealth having huge surpluses. More than $1 billion dollars in tax cuts have been proposed for this budget, and almost nothing for affordable housing. We can do better.
Tell your legislators to put money in the budget for affordable housing.
