Virginia needs more housing, and faith communities want to help. SB 388, sometimes called "Faith in Housing" would automatically allow congregations (and other nonprofits that are exempt from property taxes) to build multi-family affordable housing on their land. There are guard-rails in place to make sure that the housing is connected to utilities, and fits into the community. But this is an important way to help faith communities live their mission of caring for neighbors.

The full Senate floor will consider this bill on either Thursday or Friday of this week. Please email your Senator and ask them to support SB388!
