Hear from leaders about ways to volunteer and foster a culture of welcome in your community. VICPP's economic justice organizer, Ramón Zepeda Ramos, will facilitate the conversation.

After a wonderful run of Interfaith Justice Revivals in Southwest VA, we want to keep the connections going. We will have monthly Interfaith Justice Connection meetings, bringing together faith and spiritual communities and justice-focused organizations from across SWVA.

VICPP's Robert Lester will speak about the importance of voting for all faith communities, at the conference "Where Do We Go From Here: Addressing the Systemic Dismantling of the Civil Rights Act" 

VICPP friends and members are putting pen to paper to encourage infrequent voters to make their voices heard! Last year, we mailed an incredible 15,300 handwritten postcards to voters across Virginia. This year, we’re aiming even higher — and we need your help! 2026 is an important year for elections in Virginia! We are asking congregations, mosques, temples, and all faith communities to commit to having 100% voting participation in the electoral process. The Interfaith Justice Revival combined food and fellowship with presentations about how different faith traditions approach justice and the responsibility to care for neighbors. Participants also shared challenges they see in their communities and learned ways to advocate for changes in state policy. VICPP's Sheila Herlihy Hennessee is quoted.

On Sept. 8, Ramón Zepeda Ramos, VICPP's economic justice organizer, joined community, labor, and faith allies for a historic Day of Action calling on Costa Farms to join WeCount!'s national Planting Justice Program. The action was part of a coordinated push across Virginia and the Southeastern U.S., where allies organized rallies and led delegations to Costa Farms' offices, delivering nearly 3,000 letters urging the company to commit to fair wages and safer working conditions for plant nursery workers.
