Dear ,

We are nearing the finish line of the 2026 legislative session. Our bills continue to progress through the House and Senate, with many still building additional bipartisan support. Since Crossover, the following priority bills have successfully made it through both chambers:

SB199 – Paid Sick Days – PASSED Senate (21-Y; 19-N): PASSED House (63-Y; 35-N)

SB22 – Bias Reduction Bill – PASSED House (63-Y; 34-N); PASSED Senate (30-Y; 8-N)

HB1147 – Bias Reduction Bill - PASSED House (63-Y; 35-N); PASSED Senate (29-Y; 9-N)

SB33 – At Risk Add-On Funding for School Nurses - PASSED Senate (39-Y; 0-N); PASSED House (99-Y; 0-N)

HB195 – At Risk Add-On Funding for School Nurses - PASSED House (96-Y; 0-N); PASSED Senate (37-Y; 0-N)

SB133 – At Risk Add-On Funding for School Nurses - PASSED Senate (40-Y; 0-N) ; PASSED House (80-Y; 18-N)

SB388 – Yes In God’s Back Yard Affordable Housing - PASSED Senate (21-Y; 18-N); PASSED House (61-Y;37-N)

HB1441 – Limiting Local Law Enforcement Collaboration with ICE - PASSED House (63-Y; 35-N); PASSED Senate (21-Y; 19-N)

We are also excited that additional bills we support, including raising the minimum wage and housing/tenant protection bills, have successfully passed both chambers.

As we get closer to the end of the session next week, please be on the lookout for additional action alerts for our final few bills that will hit the floor for a vote this week.

As always, thank you SO MUCH for your support.

In Solidarity,

Keisha

Upcoming Events and Announcements

Voting begins March 6 - April 18 on the Redistricting Map Amendment

Virginians can vote early from March 6 through April 18, on a redistricting amendment that would give the state legislature the power to redraw  Virginia's 11 congressional districts. The last day to vote on the referendum is April 21.

The ballot will read:

Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?

A "YES" vote supports allowing the Virginia legislature to conduct congressional redistricting this year.

A "NO" vote opposes allowing the Virginia legislature to conduct congressional redistricting and would keep the previously established redistricting process in place.

BE INFORMED. Learn how the change could affect your district. Explore the Virginia Public Access tool link to see current and proposed districts.
