Weekly Roundup - Oct. 15, 2025 - Time is Running Out – Vote Early!
View in your browser

Dear ,

The window for early voting is closing fast and we need you to act now. This is our moment to ensure that every member of our community has the opportunity to cast their ballot with dignity and purpose.

We are deeply grateful to the congregations who have stood proud with their 100% voting banners displayed outside their churches. Your visible commitment sends a powerful message: voting matters, and our faith communities are leading the way. These inspiring images are now circulating across our social media channels, reminding everyone that when we vote together, we vote with conviction. Keep an eye on our pages as we continue to celebrate the voices of our congregation members stepping up to vote early.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the pastors and congregations across Northern Virginia, Prince William County, Hampton, and Suffolk who are partnering with us to expand Souls to the Polls events throughout Virginia. Your dedication to bringing this movement to your communities is strengthening our collective power across the Commonwealth.

We've prepared tools designed to help your congregation mobilize voters in these crucial final weeks:

Share Our Early Voting Message Watch and share our video message on the importance of early voting. This powerful reminder can be featured during your service announcements to inspire your congregation to act.

Join Us at Souls to the Polls. Early voting doesn’t have to be a solo journey. We invite all Richmond-area congregations to walk together with purpose and community—and we extend heartfelt thanks to the pastors and congregations across the Northern Virginia area who continue to lead the way.

  • October 19, 1:00–5:00 PM – Manassas

  • October 25, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Richmond City Hall

  • November 1, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Hickory Hill & Laburnum Avenue

These events are about more than voting.  They're about claiming our collective power and standing together for change. Don't let this moment pass. Make a plan to vote early. Talk to your family. Text your friends. Bring your neighbors. Together, we can show what happens when a community stands united at the ballot box. EVERY VOTE COUNTS!

Yours in Solidarity,
Keisha

Together, we’ll call for bold statewide action to make it easier to build affordable homes—especially on land owned by faith communities and near jobs and transit. Sat. November 1, 10:30am - Richmond Hill
Dharma Alliance Lunch & Wisdom Walk to the Capital

VICPP is partnering with Ekoji Buddhist Sangha of Richmond, and Williamsburg Buddhist Sangha to invite dharma practitioners from across the Commonwealth (Buddhists, Hindus, and others) for a day of connection, reflection, and public presence.

We will gather at Richmond Hill, share in a lunch (vegetarian, vegan, diary-free, and gluten-free options available), then take a silent, meditative walk down to the lawn near the Virginia General Assembly building. The route is about a mile each way. This is not a protest, but a peaceful expression of our shared values.

Our hope is to document the event and inspire future conversations and action around the role of interfaith organizing and statewide advocacy. The purpose is to demonstrate that our dharma communities are present, connected, and committed to building a more just and compassionate Virginia.

Over the last two years, more than 100 congregations have taken the pledge to encourage their members to exercise their sacred privilege of voting. This year's election is a crucial moment that will determine the direction of our Commonwealth and our communities.

Our goal is to triple the number of participating congregations—from 100 to 300—making the 100 Percent Voting Commitment. Encourage your faith leaders to join the initiative!
