Weekly Roundup - July 16, 2025 - Flames of Justice: Interfaith Justice Revival Ignites Southwest VA
View in your browser

Dear ,

The flames of justice are igniting across Southwest Virginia! Next Sunday, VICPP will join forces with the Virginia Poverty Law Center and the Virginia State Conference of the NAACP to launch an extraordinary six-day Interfaith Justice Revival, beginning in Lynchburg.

This isn't just another series of meetings; it's a movement. Our team will crisscross the southwestern Commonwealth, weaving together communities through the powerful threads of faith, justice, and shared purpose. We're on a mission to bridge divides, spark conversations, and build the coalitions our communities desperately need.

Every stop reflects the heart and soul of its community. From faith leaders of different traditions sharing wisdom about the connection between faith and justice, and community choirs lifting their voices in harmony, to neighbors breaking bread together over potluck meals—this is grassroots organizing at its finest: authentic, inclusive, and transformative.

Mark your calendars for this journey of justice:

Sunday, July 27 – Lynchburg
Monday, July 28 – Roanoke
Tuesday, July 29 – Several stops, including Wytheville
Wednesday, July 30 – Several stops
Thursday, July 31 – Bristol
Friday, August 1 – Several stops, including Floyd
Saturday, August 2 – Danville

In a world where division seems to dominate headlines, this revival offers something important: genuine connection. As we face mounting challenges—from healthcare access to food security—our communities need each other more than ever. The strength we build together today will be the foundation that carries us through tomorrow’s trials.

This is your invitation to be part of something bigger. Whether you're a longtime advocate or someone just discovering your voice, there's a place for you in this movement. Inspired by his legacy, local organizations are holding demonstrations across Virginia to stand up for justice. More than 30 gatherings are planned, and you are invited to join.
