Weekly Roundup - Thank You to our Volunteers! April 23, 2025

Dear ,

As the world mourns the tremendous loss of Pope Francis, we are grateful for his example of love and compassion that were central to his ministry and service. Pope Francis often spoke about the importance of volunteering, highlighting its role as a grace from God, a strength of the Church, and a way to serve others. He emphasized that volunteer work is a "purely generous and selfless service," motivated by the love for one’s neighbor not by financial gain. And he often spoke about the transformative power of volunteering in both personal and community development, stating that "whatever they give without expecting anything in return is never lost, but becomes instead a great treasure.”

This week is designated as Volunteer Appreciation Week. At VICPP, our volunteers play a pivotal part in our work. The generosity of time and talent from our volunteers helps our staff as they work to advance justice in Virginia’s policies. From the volunteers who help us each week in the office, to our congregational liaisons who are ambassadors of our work in their communities, each person’s contribution is a blessing. We are grateful for every person who volunteers their time and energy to fight for justice for all Virginians. From our entire staff, we say a huge THANK YOU!!

Whenever we share a need for help, we always get an overwhelming response to serve. As the fight for justice continues, please stay tuned for more information on how to volunteer with us.

Thank you for all you do!
