Preparing for the General Assembly, Dec. 11, 2024
View in your browser

Dear ,

Preparations for the upcoming 2025 General Assembly are well underway. More than 180 people are registered for our Day for All People lobby day on January 15. Yeah! Be sure to register below if you haven’t already.

Free buses are available on a first-come, first-served basis from Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads and Roanoke/Charlottesville. You will get a link to the bus info. after you register.

Two weeks later, we will host our Student Day of Action, January 30-31.  Please encourage students to attend and learn about advocacy. Registration is below as well.

We are happy to welcome back to the VICPP staff Ms. Roberta Oster as our Director of Communications and Strategy. She will be reviving our Social Media Team during the General Assembly. Team members will be asked to share one VICPP Facebook post a day, Monday through Friday, from January 8 to February 22. Easy peasy. And super effective in amplifying our message. Please email Roberta Roberta@virginiainterfaithcenter.org and let her know if she can add your name to the Social Media Team.

And finally, we have our Witness at the Capitol Program, in which volunteers partner with our staff and work intensely at the General Assembly for either an entire week or one day per week throughout the session. For more information, email me: Kim@virginiainterfaithcenter.org.

For those who missed last week’s 2025 General Assembly preview, you can view the recording HERE and get a copy of the priorities HERE.

I’m so proud of the work of our fabulous Board of Directors and professional staff in preparing for the upcoming General Assembly. People of faith will have a voice in decisions!

Working hard in preparation,

Kim Bobo
Co-Executive Director
