Register for Day for All People - November 8, 2023
View in your browser

Dear ,

The elections are finished, and the delegates and senators have been determined – with the exception of one outcome that is still being finalized. In the meantime, we are working to update our email list with the newly elected officials, but if you have their contact information, congratulate them!

Now that the election is behind us, our team is shifting into high gear for the upcoming legislative season.

The General Assembly will be here before you know it! Now would be a great time to register for Day for All People, our annual advocacy day that lifts concerns of “all people” (especially those who have low-incomes and are marginalized) to legislators.

Here are the details:

Date: Wednesday, January 17, 2024

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Place: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (one block from the General Assembly)

Fee: $30 early bird rate ($40 after January 1, 2024)

Buses: Buses will be available for free from northern Virginia and Tidewater (exploring one from the west)

The day is energizing, impactful and a bit long for those who have to get up early to get to Richmond. We will have hot donuts to greet you, a keynote by Reggie Gordan, President and CEO of the Richmond Memorial Health Foundation and former head of the Richmond Office of Community Wealth Building, visits set up with legislators (or aides), workshops and denominational/faith gatherings.

REGISTER HERE

Over the next six weeks I’ll be reviewing our priority issues in the weekly roundups and asking you to take action. We’ll also be continuing to organize meetings with legislators, especially new ones.

I am so proud of the work Virginia Interfaith Center did this year to encourage people of faith to register and vote. Now it’s time to follow-up and advocate with those elected. I hope to see you in Richmond on January 17.

Sincerely,

Kim Bobo
Executive Director
