Fourteen congregations (not enough!!) have pledged to be 100 percent voting and three are working with us to test and study using voter match data to increase the efficacy of civic engagement work. Congregations involved in the study are eligible for a small financial incentive.

Congregational civic engagement training sessions are scheduled in the Richmond and Hampton Roads areas and hopefully another will be scheduled soon for Prince William County.  The Hampton Roads training will be offered in both English and Spanish.  Register a group of folks from your congregation to participate in these trainings:

We've also got three candidate forums confirmed for the fall. I'll share that information and registration next week.

Last year, VICPP volunteers wrote 6000 postcards to infrequent voters encouraging them to vote. This year, we're hoping to write 10,000 postcards. If you've requested names (in batches of at least 100 please), they will be sent to you by mid-August (the postcards are being printed). If you'd like to help postcard, email Robert@virginiainterfaithcenter.org and tell him how many names you'd like.

Meanwhile, the House and Senate budget negotiators are meeting today. Do say a prayer for them and their deliberations.
