September Interfaith Justice Meeting

Join Virginia Interfaith, Virginia Poverty & Law Center, and NAACP VA State Conference for the first monthly Interfaith Justice Connection Meeting!

Join the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy, the Virginia Poverty Law Center, and the NAACP Virginia State Conference for the launch of a new monthly Interfaith Justice Connection Meeting, bringing together faith and spiritual communities and justice-focused organizations from across Southwest Virginia.

This first gathering lands at a pivotal moment for civic engagement in the Commonwealth. Early voting for the November 2026 general election opens statewide on Friday, September 18, and National Voter Registration Day falls the very next day after this meeting.

What to expect:

  • Welcome & introductions — meet the founding partner organizations and fellow attendees from across the region
  • Civic engagement spotlight — an overview of key dates voters need to know: the September 18–October 31 early voting window, registration deadlines, and how National Voter Registration Day (the day after this meeting) fits into local outreach plans
  • SWVA organization showcase — a dedicated time for local Southwest Virginia organizations to share what they're doing to prepare their communities for the upcoming election
  • Connection & collaboration — space for attendees to learn how to plug into these efforts, whether that means volunteering, co-hosting an event, or simply spreading the word within their own congregations and networks
  • Looking ahead — a preview of what the monthly Interfaith Justice Connection series will cover going forward

We hope to see you soon!
