eLearning Together: Fair Chance Employment

Join us for a month-long self-paced study of the SHRM eLearning module: Getting Talent Back to Work. This 10-video module, with printable workbook, focuses on fair chance employment practices and how to approach this issue in your own setting. Fair chance employment is essential for helping justice-impacted individuals reintegrate into society. It is also essential for growing the talent pool for Virginia businesses.

  • College Students in Human Resources and Business 

  • Business and Community Leaders

  • Faith Leaders

  • Justice Impacted Individuals 

What: 

Join us for a month-long self-paced study of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) eLearning module: Getting Talent Back to Work. This no-cost, 10-video module, with printable workbook, focuses on fair chance employment practices and how to approach this issue in your own setting. Fair chance employment is essential for helping justice-impacted individuals reintegrate into society. It is also essential for growing the talent pool for Virginia businesses.  

Event Highlights: 

  • Self-Paced Study: During April, participants will engage with the SHRM eLearning module, Getting Talent Back to Work, at their own pace. 

  • Kick-off & Mid-Month Check-In: Virtual sessions will be held to discuss progress, share insights, and address any questions. 

  • End-of-Month Zoom Discussion: In early May, we will host a Zoom discussion featuring a panel of formerly incarcerated individuals. They will share their experiences in searching for jobs post-incarceration and discuss action items and next steps for supporting fair chance employment. HR professionals will be invited to share their own experiences of implementing or exploring fair chance employment practices.
