Poverty, by America is a profound new book about poverty, how we are complicit with it and how we can fight to end it. The book challenges all of us to do more. For people of faith, the book challenges each of us to be more serious about our faith and putting "love of neighbor" into action.
VICPP board members will facitate the sessions and discussion. There are ten chapters, plus a prologue and epilogue. The sessions will be:
August 2: Prologue and Chapters 1 & 2
August 9: Chapters 3 & 4
August 16: Chapters 5 & 6
August 23: Chapters 7 & 8
August 30: Chapters 9 & 10 and the Epilogue
We will meet on Wednesdays, via zoom, from noon to 1 p.m. After the book study, VICPP will compile and distribute the book study questions. You can help VICPP figure out what are good discussion questions.
If you need to miss one, that's fine. Please read the chapters before the discussions.
